What happened
Wei attacked Han, and Qi came to help by threatening Wei's capital. Sun Bin's army pretended to be falling apart, and Pang Juan chased it with a small force. Qi troops ambushed him in a narrow wooded pass at Maling.
Why it matters
Pang Juan died and Prince Shen was captured. Wei's power declined considerably after the battle.
