Battle of Inverurie

What happened
Bruce was ill, but he rose from his sickbed and advanced on Buchan's army near Inverurie. Buchan's troops had been told the king was too sick to fight, and they broke quickly. Bruce's men chased Buchan as far as Fyvie.
Why it matters
It was a victory in a short, bitter Scottish civil war. It ended active resistance to Bruce in Aberdeenshire.
What came next
Buchan fled to England and died there later in 1308.

Bruce had only about 700 men, and had been carried from place to place during his illness.
